Matthew Schlatter is a composer, performer, and educator living and working in Brooklyn. He spent 2017 recording albums for two projects: world-influenced indie rock group, io & Titan, and folk duo, Schlatter & Ferris. Expect their release and accompanying tours in 2018.  Matthew was also recently selected as a composer-in-residence at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild.  Matthew runs a monthly song series in Brooklyn called Evening Songs, in which a safe space is created for musicians and non-musicians alike to sing songs in a joyful, intimate, community setting. Past projects include the new music ensemble Marigold Opera, an eclectic mix between a chamber group and rock band that he led with composer Nathan Cooke and also the indie rock outfit Instrument Thieves, with Nathan Terry, Joan Chew and Philip Panos.
